We celebrated my 4th Birthday at school in advance on 9 Nov. I was really happy to see Daddy, Mummy and Di Di at school. They brought along with them my birthday cake and goodie bags for my classmates. I had a "Strawberry Shortcake" chocolate sponge cake from Prima Deli and Mummy bought along a princess crown and wand for me - I felt so special that day! My classmates sang "Today is Hazel Birthday Birthday Birthday.. She is 4 Years old!"

I spent the day out with mummy. She brought me to play at the Singkids indoor playground and we had pizza for lunch followed by shopping. We tried out clothes together and even did a bit of mooncake tasting while shopping for mooncakes. Mummy says she is blessed to have a daughter to do shopping with her :)

Backdated post - We had my 6 mthly dental check at the Singapore Health Promotion Board's Student Dental Service sometime in August. The place was child friendly and it was really cheap - we paid less than $20 for cleaning and checking my teeth, as compared to the PD dentist I went earlier. Mum says we'll probably alternate the visits between this and the specialist.

My 2 months of being flu and cough-free are short lived. After going back to school I started to get back my congested nose and this week it became bad that I was snoring so loudly during my sleep and coughing badly. Saw the Dr and was told that my airways are very very congested and my mucous was very thick, he says he'll go ahead and give me anti-biotics this round since I was panting and it has been a week since I had congested nose. We may have to follow up with a visit to the ENT if my snoring persists even after getting well.

After taking the medication for 1 day, my fever has gone off, I have stopped snoring loudly, my mucous has loosen and dried up alot, my coughing has also lessened to only at night while sleeping.

Doc's Prescription:
Sinupret 3.2ml x 3 daily
Dimetapp 3.5ml x 3 daily
Augmentin (Anti-biotics) 5ml x 2 daily
Fluimicil (loosen the mucous) x 2 daily

Postmortem - after taking the meds for 1 day my snoring disappeared and so did the congestion, and as of today I will be off medication.

Participated in my first ever walk barefooted on 18 Jun 2011. The event took place at Gardens by the Bay which has not been officially open yet, as such we got a glimpse of the park. Weather was cooling and cloudy that morning - which made the 2.4KM walk a really pleasant one!

I completed the walk but with much protest... I had to be coax and bribed with drinks and raisins. I walked on my own with lots of photo stops during the start but at the halfway mark Mummy and Ah Yee had to take turns to carry me cos I refuse to continue walking, while I finished the last quarter of the walk myself after mummy mentioned about pop corn and facepainting. At the end of the walk was a mini carnival where I eagerly waited for my turn at the face painting station, and to my delight chose the rainbow and stars design. I also had popcorn to reward my tired little soles.

My First June School Hols 2011

This Jun Hols, mummy signed me up for 3 weeks of holiday class at Zoo-phonics! Every week at class was a different theme/topic. Week 1 I learnt about various Famous Authors (i.e Eric Carle, Rod Campbell etc). Week 2 was a week with Hans Christian Anderson & Brothers Grimm and the last week ended with Circus Funtasia where we entered the world of clowns, trapeze artistes, performing animals, popcorn and cotton candy! Everyday after class I would bring back my art work and at the end of the week I was given back my exercise booklet. I enjoyed my June Class and told mummy next time I want to go for June Class again. Mummy was glad she managed to find this class to occupy my time and it was definitely more convenient and cheaper to send me here rather than some class at Forum - the price of 3 weeks class here = 1 week class there :P

In between, we managed to catch a few live performance shows by Barney, Bob the builder and Dora. I also attended a trial gym class at sky gymnastic which I enjoyed very much! Mummy is still wondering if she should sign me up as the location is not very convenient for Ah Gong to bring me there. We also spend some time together at home making my favourite pizza , doing some colouring, going to the playground and even participating in a charity barefoot walk @ Gardens by the Bay(more photos of that event in the next blog).

I'm now into my last week and so far nothing has been planned this week except for me to rest at home and hopefully get ready for school next week!

It's that time of the year once again for the Cold Storage Kids Run! This year we had some friends who joined us in the run- En, Wei, Ethan and Joab. Daddy accompanied me for the 800m run and I was so happy when I finished the race- I kept telling Mummy Hazel can run finish! Thereafter we proceeded to Jacks Place Marina Sq for lunch and all the kids were rewarded with a kids meal. I had lots of fun running and playing with everyone, and I hope to see them soon.

Dental Check

Finally we paid our 1st visit to the Dentist on 25 Apr. 2011, after much postponement due to illness. Her first visit to the dentist went well, she was all so excited to see the dentist and was more than happy to sit on the dentist chair, as there was a TV playing cartoons on the ceiling just above the chair!

Unfortunately the dentist found decay in her teeth, which I knew she had as I could see the hole/decay - 1 on her back molar and as well as her front teeth. Anyway we concluded it probably was due to failing to rinse or brush her teeth after taking the medication as well as night milk. The Dentist pointed out that the decayed teeth needed to be address soon as it is a breeding ground for bacteria and as such may be affecting her health, as the throat, nose and ears are connected. She suggested that we quickly mend the decayed teeth, but in order to do so she would recommend Hazel go under GA due to her young age - it would be easier and less scary for the child. After much thought we decided to go ahead with the procedure – a very expensive one I must say, as we suspected that this might be 1 factor why she kept falling ill over the past few months, so we should get it cleaned and “cured”. We took the earliest slot for the procedure which was the next morning and since we already had a Day Surgery – GA experience with 弟弟we roughly knew what to expect from the GA preparation and post-surgery.

We checked into the day surgery centre first thing in the morning at 8am. Once there the nurse in charge briefed us on the procedure, she also assured Hazel and gave her some stickers to cheer her up. The girl didn’t know what she was going to go through but I did tell her the day before that the Dentist is going to clean her teeth, mend the hole and make it pretty. She will also be given a mask, like the one at home to breathe. I must say she was very x100 obedient and cooperative during the preparation and inside the OT. Seeing me put on the OT gown and cap, she too put them on without a fuss, once in the OT she lied down on the OT table with me holding her hand and allowed the anaesthesian to place the mask on her. The nurses all praised her and told me she is a very good patient; I think they were expecting lots of crying and screaming but nothing like that happened. After a few minutes she went to “sleep” and the whole procedure took about 1and a half hours to complete. But when she woke up, due to the after effects of GA – think some parts of her mouth were still numb; she was crying a lot and only wanted me to carry her. So I had to carry her for about 45 minutes or so before she finally was less drowsy and went back to her normal cheerful self. Her back molar now has a new stainless steel crowning and her front teeth is all cleaned and fixed!

Yesterday we went for her review and the Dentist love her to bits and said she’s their star patient – cos she’s so cooperative! She did a demo on a Doggy stuff toy which had a full set of teeth using a big tooth brush for Hazel to see and follow. We were told to brush 3 times a day and take extra care when brushing the back teeth; if we can’t reach we can use the finger brush or a cloth. In addition, she’ not suppose to take too much sweets and if she needs to take medication better to use a syringe to avoid touching the teeth. So we’ll need to enforce this routine and we’ll see the dentist in 4 months time.

Dad brought us to the all new Sentosa Boardwalk for a nice Saturday evening walk. It was easily located just outside vivo city and there were travelators all the way to Sentosa to make to walk super easy. Mummy had the corporate passes into Sentosa so it was free for all of us. We walked around and took picture at Resorts World before heading back to vivo city via the Sentosa express train!

We returned to visit the Dr last Thur for my review and all was not so good since I had fever again last Monday and had been coughing badly (very deep and phlegmy), which disrupted my sleep. Dr said I was wheezing a little, so this round it was lower respiratory treatment. But I would have to continue with my previous upper respiratory treatment concurrently, since I was actually getting better before catching on this new virus. Mummy also asked what types of vitamins could help boost immunity and Dr's answer was we could try cod liver oil -which I'm already taking. But he told us that it will NOT prevent infections and illness, I will outgrow it and become stronger through producing my own anti-bodies.So I’m now on ventolin spray as well to be taken via the Aerochamber Inhaler Spacer. Initially I didn’t want to use the mask, and cried & struggled. But Day 2 onwards, I will do it without any fuss and even want to play with it and do it myself. All thanks to mummy for getting me to role play with my ‘Jerry’ stuff toy!

Today is Day 8, I've stopped coughing and I’ve also stopped snoring loudly. Hopefully this bout of cough/flu/fever will go away, since the cold season is also ending soon.

March School Holiday Activities

The 1 week break came and went by quickly… Even though I had fever and a very bad cough on the start of the hols., I manage to enjoy the rest of the hols. programme which mummy had planned for me.

Here’s what we did for the week:

Saturday Evening - Sentosa Boardwalk with the family

Thursday – Introductory lesson at Little Gym followed by Lunch at Big O and Doc’s review at Mt A.

Friday – Kite Flying @ WCP with Gu Gu and Daniel. At night Daddy and Mummy brought me to watch Disney on Ice and we had late dinner at Car Cafe Kallang.

Saturday – Paint and decorate my school craftwork @ Home

Sunday – Lunch with Ah Yee @ Fish & Co JP. Dinner @ paternal grandparent's place.

The cold bug has not completely left me as I'm still having a congested nose and phlegmy cough(esp in the night). Mom and Dad brought me for a review with Dr Tan and I'm currently on medication for 2 wks - hopefully I will recover fully this time round. I do miss swimming and lots of other activities!

This is what I have to take now twice daily:
Zyrtec 4ml
Asumalife 4ml
Sinupret 3.2ml
Nasonex spray

Previously after the CNY period I was on Dimetapp 3ml and Dhasedyl 3ml three times daily for a week.

It's been 2 months since I've started school and yesterday was the 1st meet the parents session with my teachers.

So how did I fare? Teacher says I'm active and have a short attention span. I need to learn to sit and listen in class as often I get distracted by things either outside class or in class, as such this affects my class work as well as social skills. However both my form and Chinese teacher says they do see an improvement in my behaviour. I just need training! My Chinese teacher commented that I'm very detailed when it comes to going to the toilet (i.e. I will pull down the seat, take off my bottom after I'm done I will wipe myself and flush the toilet), so she feels that since I'm able to perform the steps, training me to sit, listen and do work in class should not be an issue. For now I need to improve in this area as it's affecting my ability to learn. Oh and teacher also says to practice my coloring and writing more often so that it will improve my penmanship.

Anyway my form teacher did say I'm very good at outdoor activities and good at expressing myself, I can speak well and express myself. I have also learnt to open up to her and will look for her, unlike initially where I would ignore her when she spoke to me.

My 2nd Theatre Experience

Yes finally the day to watch The Gingerbread Man has arrived! This time round I was definitely better behaved and ready to catch the play. I was able to sit through the 55min show(half the time on my own and the other on mom's lap) and pay attention to the play. We had lots of fun and laughter during the whole play as the characters on stage would interact with the audience. During the show I actually told mummy I want to buy gingerbread man and eat...ha ha ha. I enjoyed myself very much. Thanks Mummy.

Mummy must have either caught a viral bug from me or she is really exhausted from looking after us and so immunity was low and caught the bug from someone. She's down with severe tonsilitis and has been in the Hospital since last friday. As she felt terrible with fever, aches and vomittting she decided to go to the hospital and make sure she gets well fast and also not spread the virus to all at home.

I really miss her everyday and night, I cried last night when she send me a video of her talking to me. Mummy pls get well and come home soon...

I went for my 1st Chinese class this morning at school. Daddy and mummy decided to sign me up for this enrichment class since I don't get to speak much mandarin at home. Mum was glad to know that the class was conducted by Julia Gabriel teachers, and for this term we will be learning about our body parts in mandarin. In fact Mum also appreciates that the school organises additional quality programmes for us, like we have music classes by kindermusic too.

School Portfolio Book

I brought home this note book from school the other day and the message to Daddy and Mummy says to decorate the front page with my photo and name and return the book on Monday. Anyway this is what the folks came up with- Design by Mummy and Artwork by Daddy. This book is my school portfolio, it will contain pictures and work from school to update my parents about my daily progress at school.

Finally the fever went away on Day 6 evening and I've been back at school since Monday. Since I've not been to school for 1 week mummy took the morning off from work on Monday to prepare me for school. I was very well behaved and I successfully took the school bus on my own to school without much fuss.

Mummy is so proud of me and relieved that I'm coping quite well on my own in school. She hopes I enjoy school and continue to be happy in school.

A very persistant fever bug

After 2 days at school, I've caught a viral fever bug. Today is Day 6 and I'm still having a fever and so have not been attending school. Though I'm having this viral fever I'm still behaving ok, just abit lose of appetite and grouchy at times when the fever is high.

It started on early Saturday morning and since than it has not gone away (The fever would hover around 38-38.6). On day 5 mummy brought me to see the Dr Tan a second time as the night before the fever reached up to 39. I was prescribed with a 3 day anti-biotics course, Dr say it's a pre-emtive measure. He also called for a blood test to test my blood count as well as for dengue. I was very brave and didn't cry at all when they took my blood, in fact I was more curious to see what they were doing to my finger than scared. Results were out in the evening and Dr Tan called mummy to inform her that dengue was negative but blood count was abit low, suggesting some sort of viral infection. So now we only have to finish the anti-biotics and wait out for the fever to go away...

I've started school!

Mummy has been telling me about school and preparing me on what to expect prior to me going to school, we've also visited the school a few times and had orientation last Novemeber to get me familarise with school. Yesterday I've started Nursery at my school. I'm currently in the morning session and taking the school bus to school. For Day 1 and 2 all mummies and daddies are allowed to accompany us but after that on Monday they will not be allowed into the school.

So how did I do?

So far, on Day 1 and 2 Mummy accompanied me to school on the bus. I'll want Mummy to sit with me during assembly time but nearing the end I'll move myself to the front on my own, and after that will be toilet time where we do the choo-choo train line up holding my classmates shoulder. I'm ok with mummy not being around during class time and did not look for her. However on Day 2 mummy seeing that I was doing pretty well in class decided to leave and let me try going home unaccompanied. When I reached home, school bus auntie said that I cried a little when I found that mummy was not around to sit with me in the bus, but after that I was fine. Anyhow I was so glad to see Gong Gong and mummy waiting to fetch me. Mummy reminded me not to be sad, instead I should be happy since auntie is bringing me home and Gong Gong will waiting to fetch me everyday. And oh today I came home with another set of uniform cos I "painted" my own uniform during art lesson.. hee teacher had to change me out of the mess.
So far I seem to be happy with school but not overtly excited, I've also learnt new songs and stories. Mummy hopes on Monday onwards I will not be too difficult taking the school bus and attending school, tho she expects some resistance since it's morning and I have not really warmed up!

My Maiden Haircut at the Hairdresser

Since I'm starting school next week, I better have a neat hairstyle! My hair has always been trimmed by my grandma but I never sit still to let her cut it well, so we're off to the hairdresser today to get my hair professionally cut. Mummy think I did a a good job sitting still throughout the haircut, even the hairdresser also praised me. It's money well spent since my hair's so thick and we manage to get it cut nicely! I also got sweets, a balloon and stickers after my haircut, what a great experience.

Boxing Day Road Trip to Malacca A Formosa Resort

We drove up on Boxing Day to Malacca along with Daddy's 2 other friends. The journey there was manageable minus the mini jam at the causeway, 弟弟 slept most of the time while I was abit bored along the way and had to be offered snacks most of the time, since I refuse to nap. We spent 3 days 2 nites at the resort, and I tink I enjoyed myself the most. We didn't take many photos this time as Mummy - the photographer was busy taking care of 弟弟most of the time.

Mummy brought me to catch Dora and Boots at Raffles City last Weds. We had lunch together prior to the show and after the show she brought me to my favourite toy section. The 25min show was fantastic and I enjoyed it very much. I was so happy to see Dora and Boots, I went all the way to the front of the stage and kept waving my hand at them. I hope to catch them again soon...

At 3 yrs old she's a little chatterbox and loves to sing songs & nursery rhymes (I really think she loves music and has quite good musical sense). She can count from 1-13 (don't ask me why 13) and knows her primary colours as well as pink/purple/black/white. She also understands differences (ie. tall vs short/ big vs small/ slow vs fast). Her memory is superbly good as she can remember things/places/events etc which she had done before. But I can't say the same for her gross motor skill as she can be really clumsy. As for her social skill she is still as friendly and sociable with everyone she meets. Oh and she can now poop into the toliet bowl w/o any fuss but she still refuses to tell us that she wants to go - urgh!

Anyway kids really say the darnest thing at this age - just the other day she told me 弟弟come out already and I asked her from where? I expected her to say stomach but she said from Mummy's belly button! I really had a good laugh. She's also really funny whenever she poops and it plops into the water she'll say good job and when she's done she'll say "bye bye sai sai" and flush it away (who says bye to their sai?!- she does it)

I'm the lucky one who got to go to Phuket with Daddy and Mummy while my lil bro stayed at home with Grandpa and Ah Gong. Daddy had his frequent flyer points to redeem so Mummy decided we go Phuket since it was nearby and it was going to be a short trip. Mummy didn't want us to be away from 弟弟for too long.
I had a great time... playing at the beach, swimming at the hotel pool, eating and staying out till late! The weather was not too ideal as it rained on day 2 and 3 but we manage to swim before it rained and traveled round the island with our rented mini jeep.

Last Tuesday we were invited to Daddy's cousin's wedding at Marina Bay Sands. Since its the Sands Casino mummy thought it would be interesting to check the place out. Since Jasper is still too young to enjoy the dinner he stayed at home with grandma while I went with mummy and daddy to attend the dinner. The wedding dinner was held at the convention center, the food was so so and place was also average- nothing spectacular. In fact mummy says it felt like suntec city just that it's new :P

Dinner started late and ended late.. we didn't stay till the last dish and we heard it ended around 11ish pm!

This is me at 34 months getting more chatty and also hard to handle especially with a new addition at home. During the 1st few weeks of Di Di arrival at home I kept throwing tantrums whenever I don't get my way and I'll get jealous whenever grandma, Ah gong or Daddy handles my brother telling them I don't like. Last week I was down with a cold and fever, but luckily it was a mild episode and it didn't spread to Di Di or the rest at home. It's nearing 1 mth since Di Di arrived and I think I'm slowly getting use to his presence with the daily routines. Mummy and Daddy are also making sure I get time with them, and since Mummy's on confinement, Daddy has been bringing me out on his own more often. Anyway hope all of us at home can adjust to the new changes in our lives soon...

Daddy & Mummy's 5th Wedding Anniversary

Daddy and Mummy celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary at the Fullerton Hotel during the National Day Holiday and they brought me along. We had a really good time together watching the parade fly pass and fireworks, and thereafter calling in room service for dinner. We had such a blast of a time that we all fell asleep together once the room lights were off! : ) The next morning, sweet Daddy prepared a nice bubble bath for Mummy and me to soak ourselves before heading for our scrumptious buffet breakfast, and calling it a day. We did make it to the zoo eventually before Di Di's arrival - On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, Daddy and Mummy whisked me off to the zoo to meet the animals and have a splashing good time at the rainforest kids world! This round I saw the white tigers, elephants, kangaroos, emu, pigmy hippo, polar bears, penguins, rhinos and of course the giraffes - I couldn't wait to feed the giraffes. Simply love the zoo that I told mummy tomorrow come again!

Last Thursday Hubby and myself took leave with the intent to bring Hazel to the zoo to spend some outdoor time with her before no.2 comes, cos when he arrives we probably have to compromise our outdoor activities. But the zoo trip was not meant to be, as it started to rain early in the morning and the rain didn't seem to want to stop! So we ended up at Fidgets indoor playground where Hubby spent most of the time playing and watching over Hazel and I got to sit down and relax. Thereafter the three of us headed to Dempsey for a relaxing lunch at CA before wraping up the day with Hazel.

Even though we didn't make it to the zoo that day, could sense that the gal was happy that Daddy and Mummy was taking time out from work to spend the day with her. I asked her if she liked it that we brought her out today instead of us going to work and she told me GOOD with the thumbs up sign! We hope that by spending quality time with her, she'll feel less threaten by the baby's arrival.

Alot of people ask me if I have talked or prepared her for the new baby, hmm.. actually I personally don't like to put too much focus and emphasis on no. 2's arrival. I have on a few occasions told her about Di Di in my tummy and how I she can help me out with Di Di as well as read books about babies, but I don't talk about Di Di to her everyday as I find that "OUR" time together should be about US- me and her and not about Di Di. And I hope that doesn't change when he arrives - that whatever time I have with her will be about her not her brother. I also hope that when he comes out everyone else around will not keep asking her about her brother and talk to her about her brother, but talk to her and play with her as per normal. If not she'll definately feel as if the whole world revovles round Di Di!

Daddy made a last minute decision to bring us to Marina Barrage last Saturday night to catch the NDP fireworks. We arrived around 745pm and had our KFC dinner while waiting for the fireworks to appear around 8pm. The weather that night was cool and great for an outdoor gathering! I've been excited about seeing the fireworks again since my last viewing of fireworks during our Bali Trip and Marina Barrage looks really nice at nite, with coulorful lights and fountains.

It's been a while since we went to our fave park - botanic gardens. So yesterday we decided to head over to feed the fishes at the lake area. But yesterday morning's weather was really wet! Fortunately we manage to feed the fishes in the light rain before it started to pour and we continued to feed the fishes and tortoises at the nearby pavilion, which we sought shelter at.

Bali Club Med Holiday

Daddy and Mummy brought me for our annual holiday and this time it's to Bali and we stayed at Club Med - Woo Hoo! since they were having a special promo where the 2nd adult stays for free, grandpa and grandma also came along. We spent a total of 5 days 4 nights at the resort and we all had a good time. I enjoyed every bit of our stay especially the sand, sea and nightly showtime program. Minus the last night where I came down with a slight runny nose and fever; must be the chilly sea water and swimming earlier in the day! Anyway I'm fine now, fever subsided when we reached home and my nose has cleared.

To prepare me for the arrival of my new sibling we have new books to read!

I like this book it talks about the Bunn family preparing for the arrival of their new baby. I'll turn the pages and study the pictures on every page.

This book teaches me about the human anatomy and how babies are made. It has cute illustrations and sometime ago I actually turned to the page on the egg and sperm and pointed out Mummy and Daddy correspondingly. Mummy's not sure if I actually understand or it was pure coincidence.

High Fever Strikes Me

Poor me I've been fighting the viral fever for the past few days. Just when we all thought I recovered it came back and peaked again on thursday evening! I kept telling daddy and mummy I want to see doctor, so yesterday morning we went to see the doctor. Unfortunately, both Drs that I normally see was not around so we saw another Dr instead, he checked and said I probably have a throat infection as he could see some white stuff on my tonsils and my throat was red. I had high fever throughout the day and daddy and mummy tried their best to control the temp. LAst night it went up as high as 40 deg but luckily I manage to sweat it out and the temp came down. I'm now on fever medication and anti biotics. Hopefully the virus gets booted out of my body soon.. feel so tired and super whiny!

Father's Day Lunch

We decided to celebrate this year's Father's Day 1 week earlier to avoid the crowds. So it's off to Orchard Central's Tung Luk for some Brunch Buffet. Unfortunately, just when we arrived I was coughing and ended up vomiting in the car - I must have coughed a bit too hard. I had to change out of my nice dress and clean myself up. I didn't really have any interest in the food that day and only took small bites here and there. Anyway the adults had a much better time with lunch. After that we headed over to paragon where I got to ride on the carousel and have free popcorn while the adults did some window shopping.

This weekend I was abit out of hand and Mummy got angry with me that she raised her voice and later refuse to speak to me. I kept crying and calling out to her for her attention but she just wouldn't give in to my cries. So I went into the room to apologise to her, crying and saying: Sorry Mummy, Sorry Mummy . She hugged me and told me not to misbehave and I later gave her a kiss in order for her to carry me.

Mummy is "kind of happy" and surprised that I acknowledged my own mistake and is willing to apologise without anyone's prompting. But of course she hopes that I don't keep repeating my mistakes and making her upset - especially when she's now pregnant.

Here's some interesting books which I enjoy reading and playing with at the same time right now. The magnetic books are a good way for me to learn about colours and nos. After a few times browsing through the book, I can now place all the magnets corresponding to the pictures in the book.

The leapfrog junior tag book was bought by Daddy when he was in US last year - cos it's much cheaper. It's a really cool gadget that reads to me as well as trains my hand eye coordination when I use the reader to scan on the book. So far I have 3 titles and I'm having fun with it.

My First Run Event - Cold Storage Kids Run 2010

Mummy signed me up for the 800M fun run at the Cold Storage Kids Run ysterday. The weather was sunny and hot but I managed to run/walk all the way with Daddy cheering me on! After the race, I was rewarded with a medal & a certificate and the best was ice cold Ribena which Mummy had prepared for us - sooo good for thristy and hot me!

We Phangs are having another addition to our company of 3! I'm expecting my baby brother this coming August! Mummy is now 25 weeks preggies with my lil bro. and she's feeling less tired as compared to her early weeks of having him.

We still have not found a name for him and wondering where he should be sleeping when he arrives, since all rooms in Grandma's house is taken! They are doing some housekeeping to make space for him though.

As for me, I sometimes like to lift mummy's top and say Good Morning Baby and hug him. I even sing to him "ba ba black sheep" when I'm in the mood... other than that I don't seem very aware of this little fellow.

As for now, we're all slowly preparing for his arrival!

Beginning to have interest in nursery rhymes - likes Ba Ba Black Sheep and Humpty Dumpty(can say part of the rhyme)
Simply love playing and exploring the iphone - knows how to play cooking mama!
I can jump up and down; spin; unscrew caps; put on and take off my shoe(certain types)
Know the names of parents, grandparents as well as aunty & uncle
Can name most body parts (including eyebrows, elbow, neck and knees)
Starting to save money. If I see small change, I'll ask for the money to put into my hello kitty coin bank!

I’m officially 1 week pacifier-free!!

It all started out last Sunday when we were returning home from Mother’s Day dinner and I was busy playing with the CD cover that I accidentally dropped my pacifier in the car. When we reached home, Daddy and mummy tried to look for my pacifier but to no luck, it was probably stuck somewhere under the seats. As that’s my one and only pacifier, Daddy and mummy decided to take the opportunity to wean me out of it.

During bedtime mummy told me I had thrown it in the car and now it’s missing and that I don’t need it to go to bed since I’m a big girl now. Maybe I was too tired that night to “object” so mummy didn’t have much problems putting me to bed, but she was prepared for at least a few days of crying and fussing – which did happen that night as well as another 2 more nights. I was really frustrated in the middle of the night and cried for mummy’s attention, what’s worse is I only wanted mummy to attend to me and no one else! So poor mummy is zombified!

Anyway on Thurs and Fri nights I gave her no problems as I slept through the night soundly but during the weekend I again turned fussy and demanded her attention in the night. Mummy hopes that this is not due to the pacifier -cos so far I have not asked for my "zhu zhu" or have problems falling asleep, but hopes it's just another growing up phase I’m going through. She’s getting tired from the nightly wakes and hopes I revert back to my happy independent self! or maybe I can sense another person vying for her attention!

Nevertheless she's happy that I'm off the pacifier w/o much hassle.

Learning Progress @ 29mths

Ok finally Daddy got to come back on the first resumed flight out of Munich last Thurs and we were at the airport to welcome him home! Mummy was telling Daddy that I have been learning to speak at an amazing speed.

She is very surprise at my current progress, as she has never really enforced learning/teaching time at home and I have not yet started any school/enrichment classes. Maybe all the books, puzzles and leapfrog DVD did some wonders, I probably learnt through play : )

Anyway here's my progress at 29mths:

I can recognise and say almost all my alphabets(except s and z) as well as numbers 1-10;
Fix my alphabet and no. puzzles
Match all the number magnets and picture magnets found in the magnetic books
Recognising colors ie. purple;pink etc
Able to call people by their names (mainly 1-2 syllabic names)

Daddy stuck in Europe

Poor Daddy is stuck in Europe-Munich due to the Icelandic Volcanic Ash. He was suppose to be back on Saturday but now the airports are closed and we really do not know when air traffic will resume back so that Daddy can come home.

Daddy we miss you! Pray hard for the winds to blow the other direction :P, if not for some divine intervention so that everyone stuck can get back home soon.

Yesterday was my Daddy's birthday and we had a wonderful day spending it together! As a birthday gift, Mummy had arranged a night's stay at the Pan Pac the night before and they had a nice quiet couple time just relaxing and having dinner. The next day was Daddy's birthday and they decided to bring me over late morning to enjoy the rest of the day with them. We went swimming at the hotel's pool where I had a very fun time swimming and playing with daddy, the pool's very cool too cos you can hear music underwater. We had our lunch at Swensens and I was so happy to spend time with my folks that I didn't have my afternoon nap. :P

Anyway here's wishing Daddy a Happy Birthday! May we spend each Birthday happily together.

Easter weekend…

"Lost & Found"
On Good Friday we had a very heavy Jap lunch with Ah Yee and Uncle Patrick at Ichiban Boshi, thereafter we drop by Robinsons to do some shopping. Whilst we were at the children's section, I gave Daddy and Mummy a scare as I suddenly disappeared from Daddy's line of vision while he was picking up something which I knocked down. For about 10 mins they couldn't spot me and Daddy was afraid I may have gone to the escalators or entered the lift, Mummy was beginning to feel anxious as she searched for me. Fortunately, the floor area was relatively small and finally Daddy spotted me at the toy section on my own, oblivious to wat was going on. Phew... that taught my folks a lesson, not to take their eyes off me and especially at a crowded place.

First Theatre Show

Saturday we popped by Chinatown to say Hi to 爷爷 and have breakfast before heading for our show at the DBS Arts House. It was my first time at a theatre performance. The show’s called “Bear and Chicken get ready for school”. The show ran about 45 minutes with lots of singing and acting by the 2 main characters, they were lively and entertaining.

How did I behave?? Hee for the first 15 mins I was quite captivated by the acting on the stage but after that I started to fidget and got up and down my seat unto mummy’s lap than to daddy’s lap; telling mummy to take picture of the show; then walk up and down the aisles, everything else but watching the show :P Conclusion from Daddy to Mummy was that I was not yet ready for such shows, we probably have to wait till I’m older for my next show.

Mummy is now wondering if it’s my character to behave this way- can’t sit for long/easily distracted, because when she brought me to playgroup when I was around 18 months, I was always walking around and couldn't sit down for long in class. But at times I can sit still and watch my favourite programme on TV or play with my toys. Maybe it’s still too early to conclude, anyway she hopes that starting school will somehow discipline me and improve my focus on things. She's still scouting for a nearby playgroup for me...lets hope there's one that suits us!

Mummy's Thots: Bites, Swells and Scars

Poor girl was bitten by mosquitoes on Monday evening and all on the same left leg (2 on her feet and 1 on the leg). She couldn't’t sleep that night due to the itchiness and by the next day her foot had swelled up so badly that she was unable to bend her ankle and by evening she was limping and telling us it was pain. Her Daddy tried to soothe it by placing cold ice compression on the swelling and that kind of numb the itchiness for a while. After dinner, we gave her the previous medication for itchiness and rash fortunately due to the medication she was able to get an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

This morning the swelling was still there and in fact the toes were also pretty swollen. Decided to go consult the PD since she’s was still limping and at the same time replenish the medications. PD comment was that she has very sensitive skin but will outgrow it soon, and this time round he also prescribed her antibiotics because the redness around the toes looked serious and warrants it.

Hiaz…poor girl always have to suffer when she gets bitten and worse of all after that get all the ugly scars too!!! I’m wondering when she will outgrow this ultra sensitive reaction to insect bites??? Too bad of all things she inherited the sensitive skin allergy from me – her case reminded me of myself a few years back when I got bitten by god knows what and my foot swelled like pig trotters, was also given antibiotics, cream and anti-histamines :P. Sorry babe mummy hopes your foot gets better soon, than you can go out to play.

Makan Places

Last weekend was spent leisurely with Daddy and Mummy, since Daddy just came back from Thailand on Friday and will be heading off for China the following week- so it's our quality time together eating! We had a nice quiet breakfast at rider's cafe on Saturday morning but pity it was raining so we didn't get to walk around but I did get to see the horse's up close when they were walking pass the car park area. Maybe we'll go back for brunch the next time when it's sunny. Since it was raining we headed back home for some home cooked pasta lunch.

In the evening it was time for some BBQ dinner at NUS guildhouse Suntec. The weather was perfect for an outdoor BBQ dinner, I enjoyed the food very much and so did everyone else. We're thinking of celebrating 公公's 70th birthday bash here later this May.

Registration for Preschool

Yesterday was registration day for next year's Nursery at the Jurong Calvary Church Kindy.

Prior to yesterday, Daddy and Mummy brought me to the school to take a look and visit the principal. I was really excited and happy when I was at the school, kept walking and looking around at the interesting suff they had. Anyway I was so happy that I kept telling grandma "Daddy take, School Good" - surely a good sign!

Mum and Dad didn't know what to expect on registration day ie. would there be many people and a queue, how many vacancies etc. but mummy did hear that it was rather popular and that the curriculum they have was good. Registration was from 9am-12 pm but they went over earlier around 830am, so that they could register and head back to office. There was already some parents waiting outside the office area , fortunately the principal came and told them they could register first . However it will not be base on a first come first serve basis but a ballot will be done at noon. She informed that that there were only 19 vacancies left out of which 2 were AM session. Daddy and mummy just look at each other and said just leave it to fate, there's always plan b. So they filled up the form and dropped into the ballot box.

At around 130pm Mummy smsed Daddy if he called the school to find out the results. Daddy called mummy immediately and told her I'm in - wah so "lucky"! Mummy couldn't believe at first, even asked if my name given was correct. Anyway all was confirmed when the principal called mummy to inform her to come over the next day to make payment and confirm the registration. Yippy! We are indeed very blessed on our first try into school... daddy and mummy hopes I'll make lots of friends and enjoy school!

Busy busy

We have been busy with spring cleaning of our house for the past weekends so not much activities to blog about.

For now my favourite activity is going to the slide or going outside for a walk, I just can't stand being cooped up at home!! I'll keep asking the adults to bring me to the slide or bring my shoes to them and ask if I can go walk walk. Sometimes I drive everyone nuts but my grandparents always give in to my requests. But I do cooperate and obediently go back when it's time to do so...

I've also started sleeping on my new bed which I really like. We bought the bed during our last trip to Perth in Sep and only recently decided to fix it up cause I agreed to sleep in the new bed. So far I've no problems with my new bed, the only down side for my parents is that sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and walk into their room and give them a scare - cause I just stand beside their bed ha ha...

Recent updates on Lil Ms....

Think she's showing greater sense of independence and understanding.

Sleeping
She has recently been wanting to lie on her bed and be patted to sleep instead of carried and cuddled to sleep. We have been carrying her in our arms to sleep for 24 mths, suddenly my lil gal decides she can sleep on her own.- wow that's nice, cos I know she's growing up!

Toilet training
She doesn't like to sit on the potty not even for 30 secs, so when we were in Korea I bought her a toddler toilet seat to attach to the adult toilet seat, not forgetting that it had to be her fave character Hello Kitty. Lo & behold she loves to sit on the seat, but she just sat and did nothing the first week or so. So next step, I decided to educate her with books and DVD. I chanced upon Elmo's potty DVD and bought it since she likes Elmo and now she's hooked on the DVD. Think watching the DVD repeatedly and us encouraging her did some wonders cause now she can pee every time she's on the toilet seat (that's of cos if bladder is full). She will even pee, take the toilet paper, clean herself and flush the toilet and say bye bye .. so funny. Anyway I'll just leave it to her to tell us when she wants to go... dun wan to stress her.

Eating by herself and drinking from the cup
She's able to scoop up her food and use the fork to eat. She has not started eating her meals on her own but only during the end of meals when she's almost done we'll let her finish up on her own. She's into drinking from the cup and can now control her sips but still not quite good at holding onto the cup without spilling cos she's use to holding her sippy bottle in all directions.

Anyway I've never really like to enforce things the hard way on my child except for routines. I always tell hubby that she's only a baby once or only 2 yrs old once... and soon you know it she doesn't want you to carry her, feed her, help her and so no need to rush the process for her to do it on her own, we just need to expose her to the things we want her to do. But saying that doesn't mean we let her do whatever she likes, we do discipline her and scold/beat her when she crosses the line. Also I suppose I prefer to inculcate and teach her instead of hard enforcement which I find works for her and us as its less stressful but of course it probably takes a longer time to achieve but we do get there.

I've been reading "The Happiest Toddler on the Block" and it's really an easy and enjoyable read and what's great is the tips on disciplining our toddler, I've tried some of it and it does wonders!

Fever attack

Have been running a fever since Wed night and my fever crossed over to the New Year 2010... What a way to welcome the new year. Fortunately, even though my fever was high at times I was able to eat, drink and play everyday- didn't seem I was sick to everyone at home :P

Anyway just to be doubly sure it was not an infection, we headed to see Dr Heng this morning and he confirmed it was viral fever. So on his orders just rest and monitor, the fever virus should go off within 5 days, which means hopefully by tomorrow.

Christmas Day

On Christmas day we had lots of yummy food to eat as we were invited to 2 Christmas gatherings. In the afternoon we went over to Granduncle's place for "local christmas lunch" of nasi lemak and kuay tiao chicken noodle, there I met some of my granduncles and grandaunties, who were all eager to say hello to me! Before we left I couldn't resist going to the playground to have a go at the slide, it was really fun.

In the evening it was time for Christmas Dinner at Gu Gu's place. Lots of food all done by Gu Gu and lots of presents too under the Christmas tree! I had a great time eating, dancing and playing with everyone. Hope to have more gatherings like this again soon :)

Off to Polliwogs

We were suppose to have a playdate with a few friends at Polliwogs, but unfortunately they were sick. So in the end, Mummy decided to proceed with our plans and brought me to Polliwogs for a fun day out.

The play area feels more spacious than fidgets and it has many more slides. The obstacles are also more manageable and I could wander on my own with mummy supervising me below. I started off abit intimidated with the place and wanted mummy to follow me but after I had warmed up to the place I was able to venture the slopes and slides on my own. After 45 mins we headed out for snacks and after having my snacks I zoomed back into the play area. I love the balls and the slides very much, kept picking the balls & going up and down the slide. I even manage to slide backwards. : )

We didn't take many nice pics cos we didn't have our digi cam only pics and videos from Mummy's cam. But I had a wonderful time playing. Hopefully we can meet up with the rest the next round, it will be more fun!

Mummy brought me to play at the vivo playground today,but you're not there to play with me.
There were lots of lil water fountains spurting water out. I tried catching the water with my hands but I ended up getting water on my face and body. It was nice tho. I wish you were here...

Elmo Musical Show

Mummy brought me to catch Elmo at Centrepoint today. Since we were early we got a seat and a chance to take a picture with the sesame street characters. The 30 min show was really great with lots of singing and dancing. I enjoyed it very much that I end up dancing to the familiar tunes. And the best part was Elmo hugged me during the photo taking session.. so cuddly and nice!

Off to the Zoo

Had a really good time at the zoo last tues., weather was breezy in the morning and we manage to see most of the animals up close this time round. Mummy and Ah yee took leave to bring me to the zoo along with Mama and Ah Gong.

I got to see hopping kangaroos, polar bears playing, white tigers, lions, and the pigmy hippos. I even got to pat the horse and feed the giraffe!! We also had ample time for water play at the rainforest kidzworld. I was really happy and well behaved throughout our zoo trip!

We went over to Millenia Walk last Saturday evening to catch Hello Kitty's Christmas performance. But they only did 2 songs and thereafter was a photo taking session- such a disappointment!

The Long Weekend

Friday was a public holiday so we packed our swimming gear and headed to CSC club for a swim in the late morning. I was getting excited just by the mention of us going to swim that I took my duck towel and insisted on wearing it. As the weather was hot hot hot, it was really nice to soak ourselves at the pool. Woo Hoo... I enjoyed myself very much at the kids slide as well as the wave pool! Time passes by quickly when u're having fun.. before we knew it was time for lunch. So we popped over to Fish and Co for some yummy fish and chips before heading home for our afternoon nap.

Saturday was equally fun. We went for breakfast in the morning and a trip to the supermarket for some grocery shopping as Mummy wanted to cook us dinner that evening. Mummy busied herself in the kitchen preparing Chicken cutlet, chic-pea pasta and pastry puff soup while I was in dreamland. It's her first attempt at the pastry puff soup and it turn out well. I simply love the chicken cutlet but I didn't like the taste of the pumpkin soup but took the crispy pastry. Anyway the next time she'll cook mushroom soup to be on the safe side.

In the evening Papa and Mummy decided to head down to Orchard road to view the Christmas lights. Nice!

Sunday was spent quite leisurely. As Papa had a soccer game, Mummy and I spend the morning together. She brought me to MacDonald's for breakfast and later on to the nearby playground to play. In the evening we went over to Gu Gu's place for dinner and I had another go at the playground downstairs. Woo Hoo! Double dose of slides and see-saws for today!

So long to this long weekend.. sooo looking forward to the 2 long weekends this coming Dec. Yippy!

Weekend in Austin Hill Resort, JB

Last weekend Papa brought us over to JB for a 2D1N stay at the Austin Hill Resort as his friend's wedding was held there and he thought it would be nice for us to spend the weekend over at the resort instead of rushing in and out of JB. Moreover it was Mummy's birthday this weekend so it was kind of a small treat for her.

This was my Birthday celebration held earlier last Sat. We had a simple outdoor BBQ with family and friends. I was very happy that night, running about and playing with the adults and older kids. Today I turn 2 years old!

Mummy and Papa took leave to accompany me today. And Luckily I've recovered from my cold and fever but unfortunately I passed the cold to mummy. Anyway it's raining today and we're not too well we didn't do much, Papa & Mummy brought me out for birthday lunch and we spend the rest of the day together indoors.

At 24mths:

I'm starting to speak and "comment" more but still in bits and pieces.
Picking up language and actions at a slightly faster pace.
Throwing more tantrums
I have a complete set of baby teeth.

This morning I finally had my MMR shot-after much delaying. It's done on the left arm and well it was a wee bit painful but after 30 secs I was back to my mischievous playful self. The nurse told us that fever for MMR usually will come after 5-7days, so we have to just monitor. Mummy thought it was the last round of immunisation jab but she was told that I needed to take the Pneumococcal Jab after this cos its now under the national immuisation list of jabs... but luckily its only 1 jab. OK we have to go back to the clinic again to complete my immunisation. Till than...

Welcome Home!

Mummy and Papa are finally home from their Holiday in SKorea and I was at the airport to welcome them home! I was a really good girl for the past 5 days when they were away. I missed them especially in the morning and night times but Mummy made sure I was fully occupied during the weekends to lessen that feeling, so she asked Ah Yee to babysit me and bring me out.

When Mummy and Papa came home they were happy to know I had learnt new words and able to call Ah yee and Uncle also my cut on my lip from last weekend's fall had also healed. They both had a nice time exploring Korea as a couple but of course they couldn't forget about their baby so they also brought back cute clothes and some Hello Kitty stuff. As this is the first trip where both of them were away for a long time, Mummy and Papa are glad that I could behave myself and thankful no "accidents" occured during their absence.

Days when PaPa is not around

Papa's away on biz trip yet again since last Tuesday and guess what we've been up to?

Well since mummy was on leave on Tues to send off Papa in the morning, she brought me and Grandpa and Grandma out for lunch at JP, we even had a quick stop at Haagen-Dazs before heading home.

Wed and Thurs was stay at home days than came Fri where I headed down to the library for the first time. I was really excited when I arrived at the children's section but as usual I was too distracted and curious about the new place that I just couldn't stop walking & running around. I was a bit distracting to others so after about 45mins at the library we went off for lunch and after that a short shopping trip with my grandparents and before we knew it, was time to head home.

Sat. was a date with Ah Yee to celebrate her belated birthday. Mummy treated her and the rest of the family to breakfast at botanic gardens, thereafter they took me to play ball and run around the big open space near the amphitheatre. I simply love the outdoors and its a good way for me to expand my energy! Today we saw lots of dogs and I love saying "Hi" to them and patting them. All that exercise really help boost my lunch appetite - because I finished my mee sua soup and strawberries and even still had space for my afternoon milk! We ended the day at Ah Yees' place, with dinner being prepared by Uncle Pat and dessert was a rich Choc cake to celebrate Ah Yee's belated birthday.

Finally Sunday came and it was time to go to the airport to welcome PaPa back! I was really happy to see him and kept shouting and calling out to him. But alas our time together this week will be very short as he has to leave again tomorrow for another 5 days. Miss u lots PaPa! Looking forward to spending this weekend with you.

23 months old today

Today I turn 23 months. Just 1 more month to my 2nd birthday!

Here's a list of stuff that I've been up to:

Physical /Cognition

Running more than walking.
Able to feed myself quite well with a spoon and fork, with some help with scooping up the food but I can get it into my mouth on my own.
Able to get on and off my tricycle and try peddling on my own - tho feet can't reach them yet.
Slightly more picky with food or shows preference for certain types of food
Is able to identify everyone in the family
Also able to identity and name my staff toy ie. 'mouse' for mickey; 'bar' for barney; 'mo' for elmo; and 'kitty' for hello kitty.
Loves to 'read' books or flip the pages of the books- into Chinese book lately.
Knows when PaPa and Mummy are coming back from work and will wait at the door for them.

Language/Emotions

Of late calls Mummy - MeeMeeAh instead of MaMa
Sprouting more new words and talking more
Slowly using 2-words together ie. Papa-Buy; MeeMee-come;etc.
Will be upset if Mummy and Papa goes out without me after coming back from work. I guess I really miss them much!

Mummy’s Thots - On Holidaying with a Toddler

After 4 overseas trips with my baby, I have concluded the following will help make our trip enjoyable and relaxing:

Select a country that is child-friendly, has suitable food for kids and is relatively nearby -reachable by short flight (ie. 5hrs)
Choose to go during cool weather ie. Spring/Autumn. The weather does affect one's mood. Also we need not change that many clothes – lightens the luggage.
Plan early and have a rough itinerary/guide on what to do. List possible places to see/do/ and eat.
Choose self-contained accommodations / apartments to make you feel more at home. And you can choose to cook or have meals in if toddler is tired/not feeling well; wash clothes and get them dried in the dryer so you need not bring that many clothes.
In addition check the surrounding area for convenient eateries and supermarkets etc.
Have the details of the places (ie. Location maps/address/opening days and time) beforehand, this saves a lot of time during the actual trip. Google maps really helps!

Don’t be ambitious about visiting several places at one go. It will be good to plan places around the same location for the day.
Plan the activities close to their normal everyday schedule, and make sure there’s time for nap/rest time (but be flexible). A hungry and tired baby is an angry and grouchy baby!
Pack snacks and extra milk along the way in case mealtime is delayed.
Drink lots of fluids along the way and contiune taking those vit c.

Best to do a self-drive holiday- you can go anytime and stop anytime!
The more we travel together the more experienced we will get.

2nd trip to Perth - Part 3

Day 3 - Hillary's Boat Harbour and Joondalup

We drove down to Hillary's Harbour area where we visited AQWA aquarium. Spotted big sharks and a gigantic stingray as well as lots of other sea creatures and fishes, but I was most interested in the touch pool. Had so much fun patting the fishes that my jacket sleeves got all wet. Lunch was yummy fish&chips and chicken nuggets at Sorrento Quay's boardwalk. There were lots of seagulls and I kept shouting "bird bird" excitedly to attract their attention.

After lunch we headed to Joondalup's lakeside shopping centre for mummy to have some retail therapy. Mummy simply loves the Target and Kmart in Australia. We manage to buy some stuff for all of us but of cos the one who benefited the most from the shopping trip was me! Cos Papa and mummy bought me a Dora 5 piece furniture set which was on sale. It comprises a bed frame, table, chairs and storage box all packed into a compact box so we could check it in during our flight home. We were all tired out from the day's activities and only reached back to the apartment in the evening. Dinner today was in our apartment.

Day 4-Swan Valley

We woke really early after a good night's rest the night before. Had our breakfast before packing up and heading for Caversham Wildlife Park at Whiteman Park near Swan Valley. At Caversham we were treated to a farm show where they showed us how sheep were herded and sheared. There was also a chance to milk the cow and feed the baby sheep. After the show we headed over to the kangaroo enclosure where we could get up close to them. I was so excited and kept going towards the kangaroos to pat and hug them - to the horror of the kangaroos ha ha..

We headed to swan valley for our lunch, and while waiting for lunch to be served I did some drawing at the kids table. Lunch was disappointing as the food was not to our liking and the kids chicken meal was over done. So I had to make do with bread and soup and some wedges.
To treat us from our disappointing lunch we went over to Iggy's ice creamery for some yummy ice cream! There was already a queue when we arrived but it was worth the wait cos the ice cream was really nice! There was also an outdoor play area so I had loads of fun playing and eating at the same time.

Tonight's stay was at a bed&breakfast which had free access to the cuddly farm next door. The owner was a sweet granny and breakfast was really nice and scrumptious, she even had kid's utensils and baby yogurt for me. After washing up we went over to the farm where I chased the sheep and tried the tractor train, all that play made me super tired and I fell asleep thereafter. Dinner was at a beer brewery called MASH, they served Aussie food and their own homemade beer. Unfortunately I was not feeling too good and didn't want to eat any food and I kept calling out to mummy to carry and go back to the car. Alas I was down with a fever and that explains my crankiness. After drinking my milk and taking medicine I went to bed till the next morning. Fortunately it was only a slight fever which lasted for 1 day, my fever went off the following day after reaching home in S'pore.

Though it was our second time in Perth it was still fun and enjoyable for all of us, I am now slightly older to enjoy the activities -minus the part where I came down with fever - but I guess that was kind of a blessing for mummy and papa cos I slept throughout our flight back home. Till our next trip! Ta..

2nd Trip to Perth - Part 2

Day2- Kings Park

We woke up to a bright and beautiful morning. Weather was great for our visit to the park! We visited the lotterywest family park and boy were we amazed at the size of the outdoor play area. It had 4-5 different play areas with slides, swings, a mini maze etc, there was a cafe conveniently located at the park, and u could also have a bbq. Really a great place for the family to spend the day and the best part is its free, unlike s'pore where u have to pay for the indoor playgrounds which are 5 times smaller than this. So we spend the rest of the morning at the playground before heading over to the main park's boardwalk. Took a lovely stroll to the boardwalk that had a nice view of the city as well as swan lake. After our walk we headed back to the city for lunch where we had some Jap food at Taka's Kitchen- which was so so tho it had many good reviews by the locals. In the evening we headed over to Northbridge for Chinese food at Rio Regal Seafood Restaurant. We've been here during our last trip and the food was nice and mummy prefers I take Chinese food rather than western food-due to the "heatiness" of the food.

Our 2nd trip to Perth - Part 1

Papa and Mummy brought me back to Perth for a short holiday as we had Qantas cash vouchers from our last trip and had to use them up before the expiry date, and Perth being 5 hours away was the best choice as we didn't want to spend too long traveling on the plane. Best of all we didn't have to pay a single cent for our seats!

Day 1- Arrival in Perth
We took the morning flight, and all was good as the plane was very empty so we had lots of space to move around. Had lunch on board the plane and took my nap shortly after lunch, so it was a rather pleasant flight for mummy and papa. On arrival, we breezed through immigration and headed to collect the rental car from the airport. Mummy helped Papa to navigate our way to the 1 bedroom apartment which she had booked in downtown Perth. The place was nice and cosy with all the amenities of a house. We had a quick wash up and hurried out for dinner as it was almost 6 in the evening and we were feeling really hungry.

We had dinner at Northbridge's Good Fortune Roast Duck House which was suppose to have the best roast duck in Perth- and yup it was tender and juicy! I had the yummy special fried rice and corn soup… After dinner we headed to a nearby Coles supermarket to stock up on groceries for the rest of our trip. As the weather was getting chilly we went back to our apartment to have an early night's rest.

Its been some time since we updated the blog regularly.. no we have not disappeared just that a few things happened over the last month so we couldn't update the blog. Firstly we lost our camera so no pics to upload, then we had problems uploading to blogspot, and most importantly mummy's laptop died and finally when the laptop was repaired our internet connection at home had some problems- so I guess this explains why so long no posts.

Fun Filled Weekend!

Had a fun filled weekend just hanging out with my folks! We had a dinner date with Ah Yee at Marche on friday and I had lots of yummy food. On Sat we are at the airport to give daddy a surprise welcome back home, not forgetting our yummy treat from Gong Gong at Swensens. On Sunday we had breakfast at our usual wanton mee plc and a walk at WCP before ending the evening at GU GU's place for dinner where I had loads of fun entertaining everyone with my cute moves!

Physical/Cognition

Turning in circles

Making choices ie which biscuit she wants or if she wants to have her milk or something else

Has started saying more words or rather imitating ie bye, star, mo (elmo), ra(dora) etc.

Can play very well with her shape sorter toy; recognises the shapes

Doodles well on her doodle board with both right and left hand

Tries to be independent by wanting to buckle herself in the car seat or on the high chair

Able to Taps on one feat to the beat of music
